The risk
Google's spam guidance warns against doorway pages and large sets of near-identical pages created to rank for different places. Swapping the city name in a template is the classic example.
When a page is worth it
Publish a city page only if you genuinely serve that location and can add something useful, such as real information about the area, local questions or a relevant example.
What a good page contains
- A clear explanation of what you do there
- Honest information about your service area
- Local questions with real answers
- Links to your main services and nearby pages
- Contact details and a clear next step
Quality gates
Before publishing, check the page for uniqueness, accuracy, internal links and usefulness. If it is not ready, keep it unpublished or set it to noindex.
